So this weekend I went to the Penny-Arcade expo. It was really fun this year. I went Friday and Saturday for once. It felt a little off though from what I remember it being. First of all there were fucking lines for every pannel. It used to be that you could just walk in and find a seat at any pannel. Secondly the open console gaming was really hidden. I remember a huge fucking wall of people all playing games. This time every one was crammed into these shitty rooms. I suppose it is better for securitiy sake but it is so much cooler when it is out in the open.
The show room was incredible though. I had so much fun getting all of the free loot out of every company there. I even got interviewed by someone at EA. Crazy shit. Like every year I ended up in the table top gaming room and played a few games that I had barly heard of.
So then today I went to Bumbershoot and was really fucking bored the whole time. The art exibits sucked, the music sucked, there were half as many beer gardens, there was no weird random art everywhere. The fucking main lawn was sponsord by Rockstar energy and they had a skateboard ramp. That would normaly be cool but I usually expect something really artistic. Anyway I felt totally ripped off this year. Hopefully they can get there act together and put on a better event next year.
